Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein is an Indian television series that airs on Zee TV. The show premiered on 20 June 2011. It aired from Monday to Thursday but airs Monday to Friday as of October 3 at 10.00 PM in India. Due to heavy competition from Colors mega hit show Uttaran, this show never garnered good ratings.
Mrs. Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuyien is a light hearted family drama of an elaborate joint middle class family and its strict and disciplinarian mother.
As the formidable matriarch of a joint Rajasthani family, Mrs. Bindeshwari Kaushik has rather ably held the reins of her household and made most of the significant decisions in the lives of her husband, her five sons and four daughters-in-law.
The story begins with Mrs. Kaushik's search for her fifth daughter-in-law, a wife for her youngest son Karthik. According to her, an ideal daughter-in-law (bahu) is one who should be an amalgamation of the elements of nature (fire, water, air, space & earth) akin to the virtues represented by her other four loving, honest and obedient daughters-in-law.
Enter Lovely - a free-spirited, fun-loving, beautiful young girl who believes in making her own rules rather than following anybody else's. Lovely thinks it is perfectly acceptable to lie in order to help someone! Quick in her thinking, she can spin a yarn at the snap of a finger but her lies are harmless and never intended to hurt anybody's sentiments.
